Bumper cars

Sometimes it seems like it isn’t worth leaving for vacation. While I enjoyed my time with the family, returning to work … well, its probably just like when you leave for vacation. While you are gone the work piles up and when you return you spend the next week trying to dig out.

I haven’t had a spare minute since I returned to worry about anything except painting cars, thus the delay in getting something posted on the website. Except for one truck, I think everything we have done this past week has involved repairing or replacing the bumper on a car. Understandable, I guess, as a bumper is typically the first thing to arrive at the scene of an accident, but it seems like I have had an unusually large run of bumpers repairs.

It might not be glamorous, high profile work like rebuilding an antique Mustang, but it does pay the bills.

Splish splash, I could have taken a bath

Have you ever known the minute you walk into a room there is trouble? This morning I did. As I opened the door to my office I could see that the ceiling tiles had fallen in, a shelving unit holding parts was soaked, turning the cardboard boxes into mush, Jordan’s desk was covered in soggy ceiling tile and water, and the floor was wet across half the office.

I will go out on a limb here and guess we had a leak in the roof last night. It could have been worse … the computers didn’t get wet and since it happened in the office it didn’t effect the work going on in the shop.

But what a mess to clean up. Yuck!

I’m back!

It’s Monday, I’m back from vacation and JMC AutoworX is open for business.

Now, let’s get to work!

JMC AutoworX is closed for vacation

JMC AutoworX is closed this week, June 13th through 17th, while I take my annual vacation with my family. We will reopen and be ready to serve you on Monday, June 20th.

Something new

Wait! Don’t go! If you are looking for the JMC AutoworX web site, you found it. Looks a little different doesn’t it?

We have undertaken a major redesign of the website to include more consumer information, more purposeful photos, and I think, a better design. We have moved to front and center the photos to address the one comment that came up more than any other … “Why are the <censored> pictures so hard to find!?!” Well, they aren’t hard to find anymore. In fact, the entire web site has been designed around the idea of getting the customers pictures out front where they are easy find and see. But why stop there?

What good are pictures if you can’t tell the purpose of the photo? To that end, all the pictures are now commented so when you are looking at a picture you will know what, or why, you are looking at it. No more, “Uhhh … so what am I looking at here?”

We have also added more information that our customers may find useful in the FAQ section, information that may help you deal with the stress and aggravation of dealing with an vehicular accident.

We were so excited about the new design we couldn’t wait to roll it out. Unfortunately, that means we didn’t have time to port all the pictures from the old site to the new. Don’t worry though, we have all of the latest projects here and over the next couple of weeks we will finish moving the pictures from the old site to the new. So if you don’t see your favorite picture here, not to worry, it will be here soon.

Finally, I encourage everyone to keep those comments coming. This web site is for you, our customers, so please … tell me what you like, and what you don’t. I want to hear your thoughts. Really.

Time to recharge

It is almost time for my annual vacation … when I get out of the shop for a week and recharge the ol’ batteries and spend some quality time with the family.

Therefore, JMC AutoworX will be closed June 13th through June 17th, but we will reopen Monday, June 20th ready to serve you.
