Bent door, old door … smooth door, new door
This Chevrolet Cobalt, the victim of a minor parking lot skirmish, had to have a replacement door. I was able to find one from a recycling yard for a fraction of the cost of a new one, but like most panels that come from a recycling yard, it needed a little work.
You can see the gray primer on the three areas that had some minor dings that need repair. The side of the car was then sanded to rough up the paint so the new paint would have something it could get it’s teeth into and stick.
In this picture the car is in the booth, but we didn’t have time to paint it yesterday. Today we will get it wiped clean and sprayed so it can dry overnight. Tomorrow we will put it together and the owner should have it back by Friday.
