Because tomorrow is going to be a busy day, we started masking off this little gem late in the day today. Just to give us that little head start in the morning don’cha know. In the morning we will finish masking it off, clean it, then we will be ready to paint. By tomorrow afternoon, you won’t even recognize it as the same car.
I love the smell of paint fumes in the morning … it smells like … progress.
The owner of the truck was lucky that the only thing damaged is what you see here. So we gave it a splash of paint and tomorrow, after the paint dries, we will put the bumper back on the truck.
There is no such thing as a good crash … there are only bad crashes and worse crashes. This one comes in under bad … but could have been a lot worse.
A year ago in August Terry, the owner of this 1969 El Camino, asked me to look at the car on his behalf to see if it was worth buying. Obviously we thought it was because here it is. Thanks to the ministrations of Murphy Rod & Custom it looks a heck of a lot better now than that sad thing we literally drug out of the garage.
There is a lot of work left to do the ol’ girl, but Murphy Rod and Custom has started the project off right, which makes my job a lot easier. This car is now less a restoration and more a paint job.
