Heartbeat of America

IMG_1810 IMG_1814 IMG_1816 IMG_1817 IMG_1818 IMG_1805Today we pulled the heart out of the Chevelle. We needed to remove it to paint the firewall, frame, ect, but the owner also wanted to make the heartbeat a little stronger. He’s opting for the 383 in place of the the 350 ci.  We were amazed at how well things came apart on this classic. On a car of this age its customary to have stripped, broken, rusted bolts that just wont budge but even the A/C line came right apart with no problems at all. The only thing we cut was the exhaust. It was pretty rusty and I knew the owner would be installing dual exhaust and none of the original stuff would be used. So after a few hours, only one busted knuckle, (sorry Chris) a slight mess this heart was out. Up next, off to the blasters.
