Dang tree

IMG_3923 IMG_3924After years and years of backing out of the same driveway, the inevitable finally happened. The owner got just a little too close to a tree that sits just along side of her driveway. We will be replacing the left tail lamp and repairing the quarter and rear bumper. Here you can see Jordan laying down on the job. He said he was taking the bumper off, but Im not so sure. Before the day was done, we got the metal work done and a coat of filler on the damage. With some luck, tomorrow we should be able to get the damaged areas in primer.

IMG_3917 IMG_3918 IMG_3919 IMG_3920 IMG_3921 IMG_3926 IMG_3939 IMG_3940 IMG_3941Today the Mustang took its turn in the booth. We started by cleaning it and taping it up. We masked off the areas that we weren’t painting. Once it was ready to spray, a coat of urethane sealer was applied. Once that flashed, 3 coats of color was sprayed. We followed that with 2 coats of high solids clear coat. This all too the bigger part of the day. We ended up leaving it in the booth for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we still need to paint the side scoop and the left rocker panel. Once those are painted we have to put it back together and get it cleaned up for the customer.
