Living on the Edge

DSCF8823DSCF8830DSCF8824DSCF8831This Ford Edge was dropped of late yesterday to repair the fender and door. The owner had a pretty scary thing happen while driving, the left front tire blew out and almost ripped the fender off of the vehicle. It also damaged the door, the lower moldings and the inner fender liner. While it was here, the owners asked us to repair a dent in the rear hatch where someone secretly placed a mailbox behind them one day. So as you can see we were busy on this one today as well. The parts already being at the shop was a great help. It allowed us to get immediately remove the fender and install the new one as well as remove the other parts needed to do the job. Once the fender was on, we focused out attention to the rear. We used a stud gun to weld pulling tabs onto the dents to pull them out. We then used a little body filler to smooth out the dents. Once we were happy with the repair, both the door damage and the hatch damage was primed. Tomorrow we will sand this one and get it ready for the booth. This one should get painted tomorrow with no problems. Hopefully we will have some by the end of the day we will have some time to start putting it back together.
