Tubs are painted

DSCF1142DSCF1143DSCF1144DSCF1145DSCF1146DSCF1147Last week the work continued with the C-10. Paul sprayed the engine compartment sides of the wheel houses and did a spray in bedliner on the wheel house side of them They really look nice. Paul also was able to get the epoxy high build primer on the doors and fenders last week. Jordan got to work blocking them today. He did have a couple of places appear on the right fender so he went ahead and fixed that while he was at it. These will continue to be blocked out tomorrow and hopefully these parts will soon be in their final urethane primer in a couple of days

Back in black

DSCF9308DSCF9309DSCF9310DSCF9312DSCF9313DSCF9314DSCF9316DSCF9315Today we painted the roll cage on the Camaro. It was a challenge, but we got it done and it looks pretty good. We started off by masking the car so when we paint the blue, we don’t have to sand all of the overspray off before prepping the outside for paint. Once that was done, we wiped down all the areas that were to be painted. Once it was ready to spray, we started with 2 coats of PPG Epoxy primer. Once that was dry, we sprayed 2 coats of PPG semi gloss black. Painting bars doesn’t sound all that difficult until you put them into a box, weld them all together at different angles and then add layers to them. It was definitely not something I want to do everyday but it was a nice break from the normal fender, bumper jobs.

Flat black Minor

DSCF9075DSCF9076DSCF9073DSCF9074We worked on getting this Morris Minor wrapped up today. We painted it over the weekend and this morning painted the jambs and shot the grill a flat silver to break up the black. Because the weather was warm, we were able to get it out of the booth early enough to start the reassembly of what we took apart. Tomorrow we plan on a final cleaning and it will be ready to head home.

All right stop, Minor time

DSCF9059DSCF9060DSCF9061Over the past few days we have been sanding on the Morris Minor and today we primed in a few places that really needed extra attention. Because this is not an all out job, we fixed only the areas that really needed it. The body is in decent shape and because we are going with a semi gloss black paint job going all out on the body work isn’t really necessary. Tomorrow we have a small job to paint first thing, then this one will go in. If all goes well, this on will be painted tomorrow. Im anxious to see how it turns out. The egg shell or semi gloss look should look very cool on here.

Meet Morris

IMG_5486IMG_5485DSCF8969DSCF8970Meet Morris Minor. He is has had a few little custom up grades and now its time to get the outside looking as nice as the interior and engine.  We aren’t really going all out on this little hot rod, but we are going to clean up a couple of old repairs that aren’t up to snuff. We will be painting it back flat black but with a product that will hold up a little better and and a little more user friendly. I wasn’t sure what the black was that was on it, so we opted to remove all of it just in case it was not compatible with our paint. We will be able to paint over whats on it now, but we will seal all of this with a good coat of epoxy.  Stay tuned to this one, it will be a cool little hot rod.
